AS Series Built-in Controller RS-232C Communication

Postby om_tech_support_JT » Tue Jun 05, 2012 2:27 pm

Q: I am trying to connect the ASD24B-AP driver with built-in controller unit to my computer using the RS232 cable and a RS232 to USB adapter. My computer recognizes the adapter. However, I cannot communicate with the controller through HyperTerminal. The controller is not recognized.

A: The ASD24B-AP driver with built-in controller unit will also require a 24VDC voltage in order to provide power for RS232 data communication as well as the ASG, BSG output. Therefore, besides the main 110-115VAC power supply, you will also need to connect 24VDC voltage to PIN 1 and GND to PIN 2 on the CN4 so that the controller can communicate with your computer through RS232 connection. Please follow the link below to download the AS series built-in controller manual from our website. Please refer to Pg. 27-28 for CN4 Terminal connection signal table.
