Using Visual Basic to program Alphastep Plus

Q: I'm using visual basic to control your AS+ Alpha Step plus driver (with built in stored program controller). After I set up the RS232 communication, I am able to edit a sequence and alter parameters within that sequence by sending ASCII. But once I have completed editing, I am unable to save and exit the program. The following is displayed:


I input “S” for SAVE,


The following is displayed

Save program (Y/N)?

I select Y and I get an error invalid command, what am I doing wrong?

A: When responding to the Save program (Y/N), only use carriage return [CR] however for all others use carriage return [CR] and line feed [LF]. This is also true when using the command “Q” for quit.
