Q: Hi I'm using your DG II series rotary table system. On the LSD-A and LSD-C drivers, I know that there's an ALARM RESET input and a C-ON input. In my efforts to minimize wiring, can I use the C-ON input to clear alarms? Does it work that way?
A: The C-ON input was designed to "enable" the motor by energizing the motor with current. engaging/disengaging the optional electromagnetic brake on the motor, or to start an automatic return operation. It was not designed to clear alarms. To clear any alarm, remove the cause first to ensure safety, then clear the alarm with one of the following methods:
1. Turn the ALM-RST input to ON then OFF. Alarm will reset at the OFF edge of the input.
2. Perform an alarm reset with the OPX-2A hand-held programming module, or the MEXE02 data software.
3. Cycle the power.
