Fuji 1/8 HP inverter with 15 W induction motor

Postby om_tech_support_AC » Wed Jan 31, 2018 12:30 pm

Q: What parameters do I need to set on the FRN0001C2S-6U inverter to use with the 15 W 3IK15A-SW2/ 3IK15GN-SW2 motor?

A: Since the FRN0001C2S-6U* inverter is rated for 1/8 HP (90 W) motors, to prevent the overheating of the 1/50 HP (15 W) 3IK15GN-SW2 motor the following parameters need to be changed. To change the parameters you’ll need to use the program mode on the inverter and change the values of the different function codes. For more information about programming mode and function codes please refer to page 44 in the linked manual below.

*The following settings will also be the same for the other input voltage 1/8 HP inverters FRN0001C2S-7U and FRN0001C2S-2U

F26 carrier frequency it is recommended to change to 16 for 16 kHz to reduce the motor’s sound.

F03 maximum frequency recommend setting it to 60 Hz.

P02 Motors rated capacity or Power set to 0.02 kW (20 W). P02 can only be set in 0.01 increments with a range of 30 to 0.01 so 20 W is the closest to the current motor's 15 W.

P03 Motors rated current set to 0.15 for 0.15 A [220 VAC, 60 Hz]

P99 motor characteristics set to 4 for other induction motors.

P04 Auto-tuning set to 2 then hit run wait a few seconds and inverter will run a tuning test at 30 Hz. For the Auto-tuning test please ensure the motor is unloaded. For more information about the tuning procedure please refer to page 96 in the link below.
