Communication through RS-485

Postby jayaramms » Thu Jan 22, 2015 5:32 am

Hi,please clarify below mentioned doubts

1. If i write drive IO's through RS-485 only the IO names are being assigned but corresponding operation is not happening if i switch ON the particular input.
Instead it is switching ON the previous input which was written through MEXE02

2. If i teach the positions through RS-485,the position ,speed ,acceleration etc.values are not retained once the drive is powered off and on.Instead drive is retaining the last written values through MEXE02.

3.Is there any possibility to perform direct positioning operation through RS 485 if so what is the procedure??

Hi jayaramms,

1. What Modbus commands are you sending to reassign your input? What register addresses are you using, and what values are you changing it to?

2. You'll need to do a "Batch NV memory write" to write parameters saved in the RAM to the non-volatile memory. The non-volatile memory can be rewritten approximately 100,000 times. #1 could be resolved by this method too.

3. We believe you need to reassign one of the inputs from register 007Dh to an MS input such as MS1.
