Motor temperature
My motor case gets very hot. Should I be concerned? Is there anything I can do to reduce the temperature?

Re: Motor temperature
How hot is hot?
Based on the winding insulation class that Oriental Motor uses, the motor case temperature should not exceed 90°C (194°F).
Is you motor hotter than this?

Re: Motor temperature
It is not getting that hot, but it gets around 150deg F. So, it sounds like the motor is fine at this temperature. My main concern is related to some plastic components nearby. Is there anything I can do to reduce the temperature of the motor?

Re: Motor temperature
I don't know if any of these options will be appropriate for you, but you could try:
-Reducing the duty cycle of the motor's "ON" or "running" time
-If the motor is in an enclosure, make sure that there air can flow through the enclosure
-Use a fan to force air across or around the motor.
Are the plastic parts being affected by the motor temperature of 150°F? I would think that plastic would have much higher melting point that 150°F.
